World Refugee Day 2025
June 20th, 2025
Each year, 20th June marks World Refugee Day – a day to honour the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.
At Berghahn Books, we are proud to publish an extensive portfolio of titles across Refugee and Migration Studies that work to give voice to the nuanced lived experiences of refugees and migrants around the world.
In honour of World Refugee Day, we have curated a special collection of essential titles across Refugee and Migration Studies. We are also pleased to offer a 30% discount on all included titles, with code REFDAY, valid until 8th July 2025.

Berghahn Open Anthro
BOA is an initiative launched in 2020 that currently includes 16 core anthropology journals using the S2O model to transition new volumes to full open access. With a mission to support equity and diversity in authorship, there are no APCs for authors to publish.
A conditional model, it relies on subscription payments from libraries to publish forthcoming volumes open access with each new subscription year.
It also enables libraries to support by collection or at the title level depending on their budget.
