Modern Greece has played a formative role in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans. Strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, the country was deeply engaged in the region’s historical processes and political, social, and cultural transformations. Yet several aspects of this history remain underexplored. The series Greek History in the Modern World: New Perspectives invites submissions that bring to the fore original approaches, diverse perspectives, and innovative arguments on the political, social, economic, diplomatic, cultural, and transnational history of Greece and the Greek diaspora from the Greek Revolution of 1821 onwards.
