The Anthropology of Policy and Power series examines all aspects of the work of policy as a socio-cultural and historical phenomenon: changing concepts of policy as instruments of government, from modernising states to neo-liberalism and emerging authoritarianism; the inner worlds of the policymakers themselves; and the effects of policies on specific people and their engagements with the new subjectivities and political technologies that policies create. Through rich ethnographic accounts of specific policy processes, the series advances anthropological understanding of contemporary and emerging forms of governance and power. Interfacing with other policy-relevant disciplines, it will contribute methodological and theoretical developments to this fast-moving research field.
