Sport Matters

Series Editor:
Thomas Carter, University of Brighton

Sport is largely understood as a positive force for good contributing to individual, social, and economic development through health, wellbeing, economies, equity, education and more at global and local scales. Sport Matters critically engages with such claims through critical investigations into the ways sport shapes people’s lives, and people shape sport. While Sport Matters is a series drawing on all of social sciences, it concentrates on works that are critically grounded in ethnography in its broadest sense. Sport Matters also looks to serve as a meeting place for different disciplinary orientations to the study of sport.
