Not only do we enter our 18<sup>th<\/sup> year since Marion published our first two books in 1994 (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.berghahnbooks.com\/title.php?rowtag=JarauschUniting \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Uniting Germany<\/a><\/em>\u00a0and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.berghahnbooks.com\/title.php?rowtag=BerghahnImperialRevised\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Imperial Germany<\/a><\/em>), but we also started the year with a much-anticipated move for our New York offices from lower Manhattan across the East river to <a title=\"DUMBO, Brooklyn\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dumbo,_Brooklyn\">DUMBO, Brooklyn<\/a>.\u00a0 We\u2019re now well settled in \u2013 just a few final walls to paint and then there\u2019s that minor plumbing issue with the kitchenette sink\u2026.but we\u2019re otherwise enjoying the gentle rumble of the trains crossing the Manhattan bridge and lunch breaks on the waterfront next to the carousel.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you can navigate your way from the subway, please do come visit us but allow extra time for the inevitable folly we\u2019ve each endured of taking the long way!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/janescarousel.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-55  alignnone\" style=\"clear: left;\" title=\"http:\/\/janescarousel.com\/\" src=\"http:\/\/berghahnbooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/janes_carousel-9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.berghahnbooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/janes_carousel-9.jpg 850w, https:\/\/www.berghahnbooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/janes_carousel-9-300x123.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.berghahnbooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/janes_carousel-9-500x205.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So with the start of summer warming the cobblestones of the surrounding streets we are launching the Berghahn Books blog to bring you postings from myself as well as from my colleagues in both offices (apparently Oxford, England is supposed to also have its charms \u2013 something about picturesque spires, high table traditions, and magnificent surrounding rolling hills\u2026).
